Grob builds manufacturing systems including assembly, leak check, and horizontal machining centers and systems, 300mm through 1600mm size with 4-5 axes and 1-4 spindles.
Built in the USA at their 245,417 Sq Ft plant in Bluffton, Ohio. Grob features German Designs made in USA by 211 employees using German Din standards, with US components, at US prices.
The GROB Facilities are part of a globally operating company, with the parent company being in Mindelheim (Germany), with production sites in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and Bluffton/Ohio (USA).
The company employs approx. 3,000 employees worldwide and has an annual efficiency of almost EUR 500 million and has been family-owned since its founding.

Grob 5 Axis G 550 T
This machine is the newest development at Grob. The table rotates at 800 rpm and can be used to turn parts. In this example a motorcycle wheel is being completely machined on a G 550T.
On this G 550 machine we have a knuckle and a 5 axis mold being machined.
This film shows a demonstration of a G 550 machining a steel block. Very heavy cuts are being done on the machine. Please see the excellent chip evacuation that we can achieve with the A axis design. During all machining operations the machine was very quiet and no vibration can be observed when standing close to the machine.

To increase energy efficiency GROB has implemented system such as automatic mode, standby mode or weekend mode with different power shout-off non-essential power. Inputs are switched after a certain period of time. Feeds, hydraulic and pneumatic inputs and lubrication are
repeatedly examined with a view to reduce energy consumption with out negatively impacting the durability of the machine. Also the use of
Microlubrication ( Dry machining ) for over 10 years leads to lower cost and lower environmental impact for waste disposal

BX1600 is the largest size machine GROB builds with a 1600 x1800 pallet , 20,000 Lb. table load & a 7,200 RPM, 80 hp, two gear range spindle. This machine is in there plant in Bluffton Ohio.
The following systems are all build by GROB in the air conditioned plant in Ohio and can be sold as part of a GROB machining system, or other system, or as a standalone.
This includes Gantry Loader , Material handling systems, Robotics, Leak Check, Assembly, Special machining units, Linear and Rotary dial systems.
