Exact Machine Company is a production job shop specializing in horizontal boring bar and vertical boring mill machining. We are capable of fabrications machined to customer prints, and reverse engineering. We are capable of custom, production and prototype work. We also provide milling, drilling, tapping, fabrication and lathe work.
Our customers range from machine tools, heavy off road equipment, food, tire, mining equipment and auto clave rings. We specialize in gear boxes from 12lbs to 12,000lbs. Since 1964, Exact Machine has provided gear boxes in projects such as Hoover Dam, Johns Pass, FL (bridge work), New York City swing bridge and NASA to mention a few. To ensure the highest quality, our inspection equipment is calibrated regularly and traceable to bureau standards. We are ISO compliant.
Exact Machine was established in 1968 in a 20,000 sq ft facility in Rockford, IL by James W. Barnett. We are veteran owned and family operated. After 47 years of experience and employees with over 20 years experience we have grown into a quality rated company with our customer's needs as our number one priority.
